About Bob Cunningham



Bob earned his Eagle Scout at the age of 15, the values he learn back then have followed him throughout his life.


Bob is a proud veteran of the US Army where his primary job was as a AH-1 (Cobra) Helicopter Pilot.



After leaving active duty Bob moved into the technology sector as a Network Engineer. He has worked for the Department of the Army (civilian) and various international and fortune 500 companies, leading teams to provide cutting edge solutions.


After retirement, and staying true to his values, Bob continues to serve and give back to his neighbors and community.

  • Ensure that tax payer money is spent wisely and for the needs of the community
  • Ensure that infrastructure is maintained, updated and added to as needed with a forward thinking / planning mindset to minimize unforecasted expenditure.
  • Manage growth of the community to minimize impacts to the local infrastructure.  Ensure that growth doesn’t exceed what can be supported.
  • Utilize federal, state and local grants to offset expenditures to the citizens of Flagler Beach, when and where possible.
Protecting the local environment
  • Eradication of invasive species, thus allowing for the local plant life to thrive and flourish.  Allowing for mangroves to grow to stabilize areas along the water.
  • Work with others to see options available to protect and preserve the dunes along A1A.
Community
  • Listen to the citizens of Flagler Beach.  Take their issues and concerns into mind for all actions of the Commission and City employees.
  • Be responsible and accountable.  To stop kicking the can down the road for convenience.  Be willing to make an informed decision based on the facts.
  • Ensure that the tradition of our 4th of July celebration continues.
  • To always be respectful of our citizens.  You are why we are here and working for you.
